Annual Thaipongal" air Kite Festival has commenced at renovated Valvettithurai Uthayasuriyan beach on today at about 1430 hours. The event organized 'Valvai Vikneswara community centre' is expected to bring large crowd to the beach, as the opening ceremony of renovated beach and a musical programme are scheduled to take place till mid night.
More than 15 kites had so far beautified the sky and many more ready to fly.
It may be noted that on last year more 60 kites of all shapes, colors, sizes with dimensions had taken part in the competition, Taj Mahal - one of the symbol for love and which is one the wonders of the world has secured the first place in that great kite festival.
