Libration tigers of Tamil Eelam (LTTE) leader Veluppillai Prabaharan's birthday was celebrated in his hometown - Valvettithurai in Northern Srilanka. Several numbers of youth from Valvettithurai cut a cake today early morning in front of Prabaharan's home located at Alady on Point Pedro - Kankesanthurai main road.
Prabaharan born on this date in 1954, formed Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam (LTTE) in 1977 after 5 years he entered into freedom struggle and led the war over 30 years in Srilanka until end of the ethnic conflict in 2009.
Birthday celebration again led by Sivajilingam
Prabakaran birthday was celebrated again at about 1100 hours, following a Siramathana event at Prabakaran's home, Alady, Valvettithurai. The event was headed by Northern provincial council member Mr.M.K.Sivajilingam amid raining.
Posters of LTTE leader Velupillai Prabhakaran had been plastered in front of his demolished house both to mark his birthday today and Monday's Maaveerar Naal, Tamil National Remembrance Day.
Public prepared a cake with the numbers of 63 and distributed sweets outside his house, after setting off firecrackers
